• Hebrews 10:19-22
“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
When we want to enter the most holy place, we cannot see God because there is a curtain.
Once a year:
• The sinner must bring a spotless lamb
• The priest does NOT ask what your sin is
• The priest only asks: “what did you bring?”
The priest cannot:
• Scold you
• Cover your sin
His only purpose:
• To check the lamb if it is spotless, clean, and blameless

Divine Exchange
If the animal is acceptable:
• The sinner transfers all sin onto the lamb
• The lamb becomes guilty
• The sinner becomes clean
— Not because we prayed enough
— Not because we are good
It is because of the Lamb.
Like the priest:
• He does not look at your sin
• He looks at the lamb

The sinner cannot enter the most holy place
Only the high priest can enter
• A rope is tied to him (bell)
• If he dies, they pull him out
• If he comes out alive, he blesses the sinner
The only expectation for the sinner:
Will the priest come out alive

Hebrews 10
We can now enter the presence of God
Not like before:
• Not a man-made system
• Not once a year
Now:
• Forever
• We are redeemed

Not because:
• We pray enough
• We praise enough
It is because:
Worthy is the Lamb

Hebrews 10:19 — New Covenant vs Old
Old:
• They worship but do not actually see God
• They come once a year to be cleansed
New:
• Once and for all
• Eternal
• Always accepted

We are:
• Forever forgiven
• Forever accepted

The reason Jesus shed His blood:
Sin separated us from God
When Jesus died:
The curtain split in half

Now:
• You do not have to be scared, you can come to God like a father and a son.
Not because of what you have done
But because of what Jesus has done

He made:
• A new era
• A new way
• Opened a new place

Real Life
Sometimes when we enter the presence of God:
• We have too many thoughts
• Too many voices
People say:
• You need to change
• You are not good enough
You start thinking:
• I am not bad enough for hell, but I am not good enough for heaven
The more you think:
• The more insecurity
• The further you feel from God
As long as you believe your identity is in Jesus:
You have full assurance in faith
Believe that Jesus did it for me

We try so hard
We try to satisfy God, but we cannot fully do it
Then:
• We fail
• We feel condemned
What makes God happy
Hebrews 11:6
Not your effort
The only thing God accepts:
Jesus’ finished work

Jesus or Barabbas — Matthew 27:15–16
Jesus:
• Innocent
• Did nothing wrong
Barabbas:
• Guilty
• Criminal
People chose:
• Release Barabbas
• Kill Jesus
The same people:
• Praised Jesus before
• Then said crucify Him
When people talk bad about you, don’t believe it.
The same people can praise you later.
— Do not be too happy with praise
— Do not be too broken by criticism

Not based on:
• People’s opinions
• Feedback
Your identity is in:
The blood of Jesus
Not:
• Your parents’ faith
• Other people’s decisions
—You must decide yourself
