1) You Are Loved
• Ephesians 2:10
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”
Why does God love each of us? Because He is love.
• John 4:8
“The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
New Covenant: God is love
Old Covenant: God punished His people
God made a covenant with mankind because He wanted to help and show His love.
The old covenant is based on the law. The new covenant brings rest.
The first five books are the law.
People could not fulfill God’s commands. Because of sin, there were consequences—famine, plagues, and wars. Yet through all of this, God’s love remained the same.
• 2 Samuel 24 / 1 Chronicles 21
God still showed grace and mercy. David was given three choices: seven years of famine, three months of fleeing, or three days of plague.
David chose three days of plague, and 70,000 people died. This came from disobedience. When people broke the covenant, consequences followed.
The covenant could not be fulfilled because of human disobedience.
• Ezekiel 33:11
“I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live.”
God did not desire punishment—He desired restoration.
So God made a new covenant for us.
————————
Story
There was a righteous king who had great love and great wealth.
One night, everything was stolen. In the morning, he ordered that the thief be found and punished.
When the thief was brought before him, it was his own daughter.
Because the king was just, he could not ignore the law. He declared the punishment: 40 lashes.
But because he loved his daughter, on the day of the punishment, before it began, the king stepped forward and took her place. He received the punishment instead of her.
————————
In the same way, God is just, and sin must be judged. But God is also love.
That is why God made the new covenant through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus took our place.
On behalf of our sin and disobedience, He paid the full price so that we could be restored to God.
The new covenant was established on the cross.
• John 19:30
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished.’ Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”
• Luke 22:20
“This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.”
• John 15:13
“No one has greater love than this: to lay down his life for his friends.”
• John 15:9
“As the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you. Remain in My love.”
From the cross, Jesus saw you. He suffered and gave Himself because of His love for us. This shows how much He loves you and me.

2) Obedience
• 1 Corinthians 2:9
“What no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has conceived — God has prepared these things for those who love Him.”
• John 14:23
“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word.”
If you love Him, you will obey His Word.
• 1 Samuel 15:22
“To obey is better than sacrifice.”
King Saul was chosen by God, but he disobeyed. Because of his disobedience, God rejected him as king over Israel.
What caused Saul to be rejected?
His disobedience.
————————
• Genesis 6:14–22
Before there was rain, God told Noah to build an ark. It seemed unreasonable, but Noah obeyed.
Because of his obedience, his family was saved.
If you obey the Word of God, you will impact your family.
————————
• Joshua 6:3–20
At Jericho, God gave instructions to walk around the city for 6 days, then shout on the 7th day.
The walls collapsed—not because of their shout, but because of their obedience.
Obedience brings victory.
If you obey the Word of God, you will see His protection and work in your life.
————————
• Ephesians 6:1–3
“Children, obey your parents… so that it may go well with you and that you may have a long life.”
Obeying your parents can be hard. You may think you know better, but God’s Word says to obey.
When you obey, you will experience blessing.
————————
Jesus said:
If you love Me, you will obey My commands.
Obedience is love.
Sometimes we think we know everything, but God calls us to obey—our parents, leaders, and teachers.
This is the will of God. When you follow it, you will see His goodness.
