Vision Conference Day 3: Afternoon Session 2

Speaker: Siamah Glory Cing — Do Not Quench the Spirit

——————————

When God uses you at a young age, pride can come in automatically.

It’s not always intentional—it comes from our lack of experience and maturity.

It was never our own doing.

——————————

“Church hurt” — there is no such thing.

If you say, “I’ve been church hurt my whole life,” then maybe you did not go to church for Jesus, but for people.

Maybe you went in with the wrong purpose—that’s why you feel hurt.

“Church hurt” is a term created by humans.

Often, it points back to the poor decisions we made at that time.

But by the grace of God, we are still here—and His grace still sustains us today.

Scripture:

Matthew 25:1–12

1 Thessalonians 5:19

Acts 2:8

——————————

Grace helps us do things that are impossible.

Grace pushes us to do things that are out of the ordinary.

Grace is connected to the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our Helper—helping us in times of need.

When do we need the Holy Spirit?

• Not when we can do things ourselves

• But when we cannot—that’s when we need Him most

Grace is a gift from God. It helps us, saves us, and covers us.

By grace through faith, we receive salvation.

No grace = no faith.

——————————

The Holy Spirit is grace, and He is also a gift to us.

Every time we call on the Holy Spirit, He is there.

When we cannot do something, grace covers us and pushes us forward.

The Holy Spirit helps us go beyond what is ordinary.

Every time we need help, the Holy Spirit shows up.

Every time we feel condemned, the grace of God shows up.

Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25)

There were 10 waiting:

• 5 were ready

• 5 were not

The 5 wise ones brought extra oil.

The other 5 did not.

Two groups:

• One group had oil and extra oil

• The other had oil, but no extra

What does this represent?

Oil = the Holy Spirit

Quenching = dryness

——————————

Sometimes you may feel like you don’t feel the presence of God,

but His presence is still with you.

Even in difficult moments.

Even when you sin—God is still with you.

When you sin, the Holy Spirit reminds you not to do it.

He is also grieving with you.

The Holy Spirit is a real person with real feelings.

——————————

Quenching the Holy Spirit means ignoring Him, resisting Him, or becoming spiritually dry.

——————————

Your surroundings matter.

What you listen to matters.

Who you are around matters.

The 5 wise bridesmaids knew to bring extra oil.

The other 5 didn’t realize it—because of their environment.

Choose your surroundings wisely.

Choose your environment wisely.

——————————

Acts 2:8

We often don’t know how to wait.

If no decision is made, we must learn to wait and follow.

“If success comes to you quickly, you will not last long.”

Success is not built overnight.

True success is found in the grace of God.

——————————

Deuteronomy 34:4

Moses saw the promised land but did not enter it.

Why?

Because Moses represented the Law.

——————————

John 1:17

Grace came through Jesus Christ.

Because of grace, we can enter the promised land.

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants received the promise through grace.

——————————

Not everything that is free is good for you.

——————————

Be like the 5 wise bridesmaids.

Keep your oil filled—and have extra.

When the world comes against you, you won’t be shaken,

because you are full of the Holy Spirit.

Choose the right environment.

Choose the right people.

Choose a church that teaches grace.
