Set Your Mind on Things Above
Scripture: Colossians 3:5–11
When we choose to focus on Christ, our lives should begin to look different.
Paul tells us to put to death whatever belongs to our earthly nature. Sin isn’t something we should hold onto or keep making excuses for. It needs to be surrendered to God because it pulls our hearts away from Him.
He also tells us to get rid of things like anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language. What is in our hearts will eventually show in the way we speak and treat others.
But following Jesus isn’t just about getting rid of sin. It’s also about putting on the new life He has given us. In Christ, we are made new, and every day He continues to shape us to become more like Him. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but God is faithful to keep changing us as we walk with Him.
Paul reminds us that our identity is no longer found in our background, status, or the labels people place on us. Our identity is found in Christ, and because of Him, we are one family.

Prayer
Lord, help me to let go of the things that pull me away from You. Continue to renew my heart and make me more like Jesus each day. Help my words, actions, and attitude reflect the new life You have given me. Remind me that my identity is found in You alone. Amen.
