Abide in Him
John 15:4-5 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
- John 15:4-5
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
Jesus calls us to remain in Him, the true Vine. The fruit is important, but our primary focus should never be the fruit, it should always be the Vine.
Sometimes we become so focused on looking for fruit, measuring it, or even judging whether it’s there that our attention shifts away from the One who produces it. We worry about growth, results, and outward evidence, forgetting that fruit is the natural outcome of staying connected to Christ.
Our responsibility is not to force fruit but to abide in Him. As we spend time with Jesus, trust Him, and remain close to Him, He produces the fruit in our lives in His timing.
Don’t chase the fruit, instead stay close to the Vine. Stay connected, be rooted to Him, and the fruit will follow.
