Push Through Your Crowd
When we hear the story of the woman with the issue of blood, we usually focus on the healing. But before she ever experienced the healing, she had to push through the crowd to get to Jesus.
- Mark 5:25–34
She had been suffering for twelve years. She had tried everything, but when she heard Jesus was there, she didn’t let the crowd stop her.
And sometimes we have our own crowds.
Maybe it’s our own distractions:
our busy schedule.
our phone.
our tiredness.
our feelings; our disappointment with God, or even with people.
Sometimes we want to get closer to Jesus, but we allow these things to get in the way.
The woman didn’t wait for the crowd to disappear.
She pushed through it.
That’s the challenge for us too.
We have to be willing to push through the things that are keeping us from Jesus.
We have to do the same.
Push through the distractions and pray.
Push through the tiredness and open your Bible.
Push through the disappointment and keep trusting God.
Push through whatever is keeping you from Jesus.
So ask yourself: What is my crowd? And don’t let it stop you from getting to Jesus.
