• John 9:1-7
“As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man’s eyes with the mud and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.”

Jesus healed a man’s eyes with mud.
He spit on the ground, made mud, put it on the man’s eyes, and told him to go wash. The man obeyed and came back seeing.
— Mud is just dirt. It’s messy and ordinary. But it reminds us we were made from the dust.
Jesus used something from the ground to give the man sight. It shows that God can take something simple and use it for something powerful.
The man was born blind, not because of sin, but so that God’s work could be shown through him.
• Sometimes what we see as weakness is where God shows His power.
Jesus didn’t just fix what was broken. He gave new eyes.
— The man still had to obey. He went and washed, and then he could see.
We also have to trust and obey, even when it doesn’t make sense.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, help me trust You with the messy parts of my life. Give me new eyes to see what You are doing. Help me obey You. Amen.
