We live in a culture that hates waiting. We get frustrated if a video buffers for even 5–10 seconds. We look for shortcuts and try to skip the process.
And we bring that same mindset into our relationship with God. We want everything instantly. We complain, “Why is it taking so long?” Sometimes we don’t even say it out loud—but we think it.
But God is a Father who is not against you—He is for you. What we think is best for us is actually not.
• We look for comfort, but God is thinking about calling
• We want quick, instant results, but God is building something deeper
• We want temporary happiness, but God is building a legacy

• Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
God is for us. He is our Father. But just because He is for us doesn’t mean He will always move in our favor or in the way we want. God cares about our future.
God is not a microwave God. He works step by step, season by season. He knows what He is doing.

Moses had a calling to bring the Israelites out of Egypt, but before the deliverance, he had to go through the wilderness.
• 1 Samuel 16:7–13
God looks at the heart, not the outward appearance.
David was overlooked. He was out tending the sheep while everyone else was being seen. Even his own father forgot about him.

We live in a world of FOMO—the fear of missing out. But David stayed faithful to his assignment. Don’t let FOMO make you abandon what God has called you to do.
David was anointed to be king.
• 2 Samuel 5:4
“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.”
He was anointed at 17, but appointed at 30.
The process is the time between the anointing and the appointing.
After he was anointed, nothing seemed to happen. There was no title, no position. But he kept doing what the Lord told him to do.

During the process, we think nothing is happening, nothing is changing—but something is happening.
• David worshiped God when no one was watching
• Saul became jealous of David, and David had to hide
Sometimes we feel like everyone else is moving forward, doing their own thing.
But just because God hasn’t fulfilled His promise for you yet doesn’t mean He has forgotten you.
• He is preparing you
• He is building your character
God is more concerned about who you are becoming than the platform you are on.

It’s one thing to talk about the process, but it’s another thing to live through it.
Sometimes we go through so much that we feel like we’ve failed God, like we’ve disappointed Him. Lies start to creep in.
David was anointed, but he still made mistakes. He had failures. He committed serious sins.
• 2 Samuel 11–12
He gave in to temptation, committed adultery, and tried to cover it up. He sent Bathsheba’s husband to the front lines, and he died. So not only was it adultery, but also murder.
But God didn’t cancel his calling. God didn’t take it away.

David cried out to the Lord.

He didn’t run away from God—he ran to God.
Like the prodigal son, he came back to his Father.
Our relationship with God is not based on performance—it is based on grace.

Our weaknesses do not disqualify us, and they do not cancel our calling.

If you feel like you’re not good enough, don’t run from God—run to God.
He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion.
It’s not about being perfect or always doing everything right—it’s about transformation.
It’s not about your education or ability, but how God carries you through.

You’re in training. God sees what’s ahead of you.
God is a God of process. He is preparing you for what He has already prepared for you.
He is going to do amazing things through you.
