More importantly—why are you a Christian?

What Makes Christianity Different?
• the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
There are many religions in the world, but what sets Christianity apart is this:
• Buddha died and remained in the grave.
• Muhammad died and was not raised.
• Throughout all human history, no one has died and risen again—except Jesus Christ.
Jesus was crucified, buried, and rose again on the third day.
That is why we are here today.
Without the resurrection, our faith would be in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:3–8
Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day—and He appeared to many witnesses.
Even Paul, who did not walk with Jesus during His ministry, encountered Him on the road to Damascus. The early church wrestled with the reality of the resurrection—but the truth remained: Jesus is alive.

The Resurrection Proves Jesus Is the Son of God
The Bible clearly declares that Jesus rose from the dead.
Because of this, we have hope and confidence—this is the foundation of our faith.
• Jesus was sinless, yet He died on the cross.
• The cross was meant for criminals, yet He took our place.
• He carried our sins even though He had none.
Jesus has two natures:
• Fully human
• Fully God
Only God has the power to overcome death—and Jesus proved this through His resurrection.
Before He died, Jesus said multiple times:
“I will die and rise again.”
And everything He said was fulfilled.

• The women went to the tomb—and it was empty.
• The angel declared: “He is not here. He has risen.”
Thomas doubted and wanted proof.
When Jesus appeared, He told Thomas:
“Touch My hands and My side.”
Even in doubt, Jesus revealed Himself.

Why Do We Worship Jesus?
Because of who He truly is—the risen Son of God.

The Resurrection Brings Victory Over Sin and Death
Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve.
Sin is the root of all brokenness.
The greatest problem humanity faces is sin—and only Jesus overcame it.
Peter is a powerful example:
• He once denied Jesus.
• He ran away in fear.
But after seeing the risen Christ:
• He became bold.
• He preached without fear.
• He even chose to be crucified upside down, feeling unworthy to die like Jesus.
That is the power of the resurrection.
Because Jesus lives:
• We can overcome sin
• We can overcome fear
• We can overcome death

Nothing—death, life, powers, or anything else—can separate us from the love of God in Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:57
“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The Resurrection Gives Us Hope for Eternal Life
1 Peter 1:3
We are born again into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus.
Hope means:
Something good is coming
Something better is ahead
Even the thief on the cross—after a wasted life—found hope in his final moment.
Jesus told him:
“Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
