1. The Christian life starts with grace
Scriptures: Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 John 4:19; 1 John 3:1
The Christian life starts with grace.
Salvation is a gift from God. We did not earn it, and we cannot be good enough to earn it.
Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us that we are saved by grace through faith. It is a gift from God.
1 John 4:19 says we love because He first loved us.
1 John 3:1 reminds us that God loves us so much that He calls us His children.
Grace is a gift. We don’t earn it. Jesus did what we could not do for ourselves.
When we talk about grace, we are talking about Jesus.
2. The Christian life is Christ living in you
Scriptures: Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 5:17; John 15:5
Galatians 2:20 talks about Christ living in us. Our old life is no longer the center. We now live by faith in Jesus.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old is gone and the new has come.
John 15:5 reminds us that Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Apart from Him, we can do nothing.
The Christian life isn’t about doing everything on our own. We need Jesus.
Jesus in me → Jesus through me.
3. Grace does not love sin — grace teaches us to say no to sin
Scriptures: Titus 2:11–12; John 8:36
Grace does not mean we can keep living in sin.
Titus 2:11–12 teaches us that God’s grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly desires.
Grace changes us and teaches us how to live differently.
John 8:36 says that if the Son sets us free, we are truly free.
Grace gives us freedom from sin. It doesn’t give us an excuse to keep choosing sin.
4. When a Christian fails, run to Jesus — not away from Him
Scripture: Hebrews 4:16
When we fail, we shouldn’t run away from Jesus.
Run to Jesus.
Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come to God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we can receive mercy and find grace when we need it.
When you fail, don’t hide from God because of shame. Go to Him.
His grace is there when we need it.
5. The Christian life is lived from identity, not for identity
Scripture: Matthew 3:17
Matthew 3:17 shows the Father calling Jesus His beloved Son and saying that He is well pleased with Him.
Jesus knew who He was before He began His ministry.
In the same way, we don’t have to work to earn our identity in Christ.
We live from the identity God has already given us.
We don’t have to prove that we belong.
You are God’s child. Live from that identity, not for it.
6. The Christian life produces love for people
Scripture: John 13:35
Jesus says that people will know we are His disciples by our love.
If Jesus is living in us, His love should show through the way we treat people.
Christ’s love makes us want to love others because we have already received His love.
Love people. Serve people. Show kindness. Forgive. Care for others.
Jesus in us should be seen through the way we love people.
7. The Christian life is a journey of growth
Scripture: Philippians 1:6
The Christian life is a journey of growth.
Philippians 1:6 reminds us that God started a good work in us and will continue it.
We aren’t going to become perfect overnight.
Don’t compare your chapter with someone else’s journey.
Everyone grows differently, and growth takes time.
The more you know the love of Jesus, the more you grow.
God is still working in you.
8. The goal of the Christian life is Jesus
Scripture: Philippians 3:10
The goal of the Christian life is Jesus.
Paul’s desire was to know Christ.
It’s not just about knowing about Jesus. It’s about actually knowing Him.
The goal is to know Jesus, grow in Him, follow Him, and become more like Him.
Jesus is the reason for everything
