May 16 – Dream to Destiny

Speaker: Sia Muang Pi — Dream to Destiny

God accomplishes the dreams, visions, and calling He places in us. We were all created with vision and purpose. Before God created you in the physical world, He already knew you, planned for you, and knew what He would call you to do. He thought of you before you were even born; therefore, your purpose is not random.

No person born into this world is an accident. Even someone the world may overlook — the disabled, the imperfect, the broken — still carries purpose from God. If God has purpose for the “perfect” man, He also has purpose for the imperfect man. Everyone is carefully planned and thoughtfully created by God.

Ephesians 2:10

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

God prepared good things in advance for us to do. Because of that, we don’t have time to live in sin or constantly pursue bad things. When your heart is aligned with God, your life begins to reflect His purpose instead of sinful actions.

Walking in your calling does not always feel like walking on a straight path. Sometimes life feels like a roller coaster — full of highs and lows, moments of clarity and moments of confusion. Calling is not always comfortable or predictable.

Hawaii itself was formed through volcanic fire. Layers of lava dried and slowly became beautiful islands. Though isolated, millions of people travel there every year. Some parts of Hawaii can experience rainforest and desert climates at the same time. In the same way, pressure and hardship in our lives shape our character. The volcanic eruptions created something beautiful and attractive. Likewise, even though your seasons may keep changing, God is still building something beautiful in you.

Joseph is an example of how God turns a dream into a destiny.

To walk in purpose, you need clear vision. Without vision for where you will be in 5 or 10 years, life can feel directionless — like wandering through life without purpose. But when you have vision from God, even if the journey feels like a roller coaster, you are still on the path God has called you to walk.

Many people go astray because they do not recognize their calling in time. God can call someone at any moment, but He can also reveal calling at a very young age. When you know what God has called you to do, you will also recognize how He protects you from stepping outside that calling.

If God reveals your calling early, He will also anoint and protect you for it.

God can speak and call people in many ways, including:

  1. Dreams; ex. Joseph
  2. Prayers; Jeremiah 33:3
  3. Word of God; Psalms 119:105
  4. Believers; Proverbs 11:14
  5. Holy Spirit; John 16:13

Like Joseph, even though the process took time, he waited for God’s timing. He listened to God and held onto the dream God gave him. He understood that he had purpose, and he trusted that God would help him through every season until the dream became destiny.
