- Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
Reflection:
This verse shows that God wants honesty, not perfection. When it says to let your requests be made known, it is not because God does not already know. It is an invitation to be real with Him.
A lot of the time, it is easy to filter thoughts or only say what sounds right in prayer. But this verse points to something different. It encourages bringing everything to God, including stress, fear, and things that are hard to explain. Especially during exam week, anxiety can build up quickly, and it can feel overwhelming.
Being honest with God means saying exactly what is on your mind without trying to fix it first. It is about trusting that He understands even the thoughts that feel messy or unclear. Instead of holding everything in, this verse reminds us to turn those thoughts into prayer.
In that process, anxiety does not just disappear, but it does become lighter because it is no longer carried alone, but with God.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that I am able to bring my honest thoughts to You during times of struggle and stress when my mind feels overwhelmed. Help me to bring everything to You instead of carrying it on my own. Lord, I ask that I do not carry the weight of it alone, but that I am lifted and strengthened through You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
