We live in a time that moves so fast. If you look at your feed — like mine — it’s filled with jokes and entertainment. Sometimes it causes us to neglect the seriousness of the Word of God. Therefore, we need to take the Word of God seriously.
This message is meant to empower you.
We live in a generation with unlimited access to Scripture, yet there are believers around the world who risk their lives or are thrown into prison just to have it.
1) God is searching
-God is searching for a posture that says, “Lord, I’m here. I will fully trust You and submit to You.”
“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him…”
— 2 Chronicles 16:9 (ESV)
God is searching for a person whose heart is fully committed to Him.
We may not be persecuted physically, but you and I are challenged every day to take the Word of God seriously. We are challenged by culture, by distractions, by our attention span, by people, by peer pressure.
God is not searching for talent, influencers, or platforms.
He is searching for a heart fully committed to Him.
Look at King Asa in 2 Chronicles 16. He started well. When he first became king, he said, “Lord, I will fully submit and commit to You.” He threw away idols and relied on God. But later, he began to rely on himself and his own leadership instead of God. Then a prophet came to correct him.
Correction can hurt, but correction leads us somewhere.
Like our parents correcting us — it may hurt our hearts, but it shapes us.
God does not correct you to destroy you. He corrects you to develop you.
God calls you and corrects you so you can grow into the purpose He has for you. It might look different from your friends, but God has something specific for you.
When we receive the Word of God, it’s easy to worship in the moment and then drift away. The issue is not access to the Word — the issue is commitment. The issue is not whether you received correction — it’s whether you are committed to obeying it.

2) Hearing Is Not Enough
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
— James 1:22 (ESV)
It’s not enough to be hearers only — we must be doers.
What kind of soil is your heart?
The Word of God is accessible to everyone. Sermons are not lacking. What’s often lacking is our response — saying, “I need to take this seriously. Lord, fix my heart. Make my heart good soil.”
Stay connected to the Vine (John 15). Everything we do is a byproduct of our connection with God.
Some people can put Bible verses in their bio, but that alone doesn’t prove connection. True obedience is the byproduct of intimacy with God.
The Word is not meant to impress you. It is meant to change you.
James says the Word is like a mirror. Some people look in the mirror, see what needs to change, and then walk away and forget. But those who are hearers and doers look closely and attentively at what needs to change — they allow God to transform them.
This isn’t about physical appearance. It’s about knowing you are a child of God.
Many believers in Western churches feel guilt when they sin and feel distant from God. But if we are truly doers of the Word, we will recognize when we are wrong — and we will run to the truth: we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus. We are saved and made whole by Him.
Serious faith produces obedience.
You don’t force obedience. When you yield to the Holy Spirit, obedience flows naturally. If you try to perform obedience without connection, you’ll be inconsistent — obedient in one area, rebellious in another.
When we take the Word seriously and yield to the Spirit, obedience becomes the fruit.
Let it flow out of you.

3) Choose Who You Will Please
Those who are serious about their faith must choose who they will please.
Galatians 1:10
— Are we seeking to please man or God?
When you truly seek to please God in faith, supernatural fruit follows.
Think about Joshua and Caleb (Numbers 13–14). Twelve spies went into the land, but only two believed they could defeat the giants because they knew God was with them. Twelve saw giants. Two saw God.
It only takes one person.
Jesus, who knew no sin, came to die for you. He took His mission seriously. Fully man and fully divine, He felt the weight of the cross. As a man, He felt the agony. He knew that by taking our sin, He would experience separation from the Father. Yet He obeyed.
It only takes one person to change the world — one person who chooses to please God instead of people.
It took Noah over 100 years to build the ark before rain had ever fallen (Genesis 6–9).
It took Esther to stand up and save her people (Book of Esther).
It took Martin Luther to spark the Reformation in Europe.
God is looking for one young person who will say:
“Lord, I’m here.”
To share the gospel.
To share their testimony.
To not compromise the truth.
Do not compromise the gospel. Follow it fully.
We are the byproduct of leaders who took their calling seriously.
